"Reading" the entire book of 'Twas The Night Before Christmas at the kitchen table
for all
the relatives - having memorized all the words & when to turn the pages
(can no longer do this)




Age 3 1/2
"Daddy, when is it my turn to go on the stage?"
Heard during a very quiet moment while watching the Church Christmas Pageant.

Age 12
Winning 1st Prize
(and the biggest trophy I'd ever seen) at the Kiwanis Music Festival
for Mozart's Divertimento in D - the Grade 8 piano piece
I hated (and can no longer
play)
.  Coming 3rd in the same competition with my favourite piece - Chopin's Waltz
in Ab
(which I can still play).  Deciding it was time to quit piano lessons (lasted about
another year)
and really learn to play guitar.  (still learning)









Age 15
Writing and/or arranging, then performing all of the music in
our high school's
first-place award winning entry in the Simpson Sears Drama Festival Ontario Finals.
(Dr. Umlaut's Earthly Kingdom, performed at the St. Lawrence Centre, Toronto)

Getting
my driver's licence on the first try.
(almost failing because I waved back at my best friend's dad)





Age 17
Going to prom - with a date!










Age 18
Achieving
honours marks in three Grade 13 Math courses
without ever learning
my times-tables.





Age 20
Getting rid of
my recurring nightmare - and learning I really could scream out loud -
after being  "attacked" by a squeegee while unpacking
the car in a dark parking lot.

Age 23
First role as a brunette - what a costume - what a wig - amazing!

Finally learning to "drive a stick" thanks to a lesson from Mom and the
use of Grandma's Austin Mini.  
(still can, but not particularly well)

Getting
my Equity card.
Becoming a member of ACTRA.




Dancing with John Candy on SCTV.








Age 27
Buying that first house (the middle of a triplex - the entire lot was 12 feet wide).






Age 28
Driving in
the car, listening to the radio, and hearing a song I co-wrote.  Wow.










Age 31
Marrying
long-time partner, Chris.
Giving birth to that beautiful baby boy, Colin.







Age 33
Deciding it was worth it to leave the big city.






Age 40 and beyond...
Surviving outside of the big city and looking forward to each new decade.







Age ???  Okay - well beyond...
Still at it!  Acting, singing, writing, mothering, partnering.  Life is good.  Enjoy!
