Frank's love of music began at the age of 5, when his parents introduced him to the piano. He was so
thrilled that he could make music. There were even times that his mother used to ask him to stop
practising! At the age of 10 he learned to play the ukelele followed by the 4-string banjo. He played for
his family and friends but nothing serious. Their compliments made him want more. In high school he
took the upright bass and then guitar - an instrument he feels he's still learning today. Frank started
playing in bands and performing at high school dances and the like. He had a passion for folk music
and became the president of the Stouffville Music Folk Club. The club did 24 television shows on the
local cable TV station.
During that period Frank met Steve through a mutual friend, Jimmy Hunter. Jimmy played drums, Steve
played bass and, with Frank on guitar and vocals, they soon became a heavy metal band. Frank and
Steve became the best of friends and played in many different band configurations, one of which was
known as PRESSURE. The Kawarthas never knew what hit them. PRESSURE developed quite a
following in that area in particular. After PRESSURE, Frank went back to his roots and played in a duo
with Janie Lupton. They played folk and contemporary music all over Ontario. Their sound was unique
as they played two 12-string guitars and sang together. After 3 or 4 years Frank and Janie went in
different directions and Frank sat his axe down. It would not be picked up regularly again for many
years.
One fall night, Frank called Steve. He wanted to record some music for his family as a Christmas
present and said that the first person he thought of was Steve. They got together and played MUSIC!
The bug hit Frank right away and - next thing you know - FULL CIRCLE was formed. Later, with the
addition of Morgan on drums, FULL CIRCLE became complete.
Recently, Frank spent some time playing with a Durham region cover band called GOOD TO GO. He
was reunited with his old pals Jimmy Hunter and Brian Graham.
Frank says that he went full circle to end up playing with FULL CIRCLE. "What a fabulous unexpected
musical experience."
