On May 24th, we celebrate Victoria Day. But what does that mean to us today? Who was Queen Victoria and why do we
celebrate her?
In our brand new play “Victorian Secrets” we illuminate the exciting Victorian era from the perspective of three women who
lived it: Catherine Parr Traill (a Canadian pioneer), Ada E. Leslie (a lower middle-class nanny), and Queen Victoria herself.
These unique female perspectives are often not recorded in history and remain ignored. Here, their stories are woven
together to create a deeper understanding of this exciting time. By using song, authentic costumes, and period language we
take students on a journey through the settlement of Canada and beyond. Click here for booking informaton.
Please browse through our website and book us into your school or venue this February & May 2012. We look forward to meeting you and performing for you.

A 2002 Pulitzer Prize for Drama Finalist and winner of the prestigious 2002/2003 Susan Smith Blackburn Prize, this seminal
play is an edgy and provocative examination of the complexities of inter-racial prejudice, centering around the relationship
between Eugene, a light-skinned black man, and Alma, a dark-skinned black woman. Yet "Yellowman" is much more than a
story about race and prejudice. It’s a love story and a tale about families and the damage they inflict upon their members.
Black or white, you will recognize the shades of gray.
