Rehearsals are underway for HAMLET IN A HURRY. Beau will be playing Claudius the King.  This is his first crack at Shakespeare.  Pure poetry! Every Friday
at Prince Of Wales Public School in Peterborough Beau has been teaching drama to grade seven and eights. It has been very inspiring.  Watch out for his
next children's play planned to be produced in May of 2010.  Yikes!  Right around the corner!

September '09
Starting production on a new play for First Year Trent Students, written by Beau Dixon, Phil Oakley and Meagh Culkeen.  Very excited with the cast!  Show runs
Sept. 7-10th.  Beau is pleased to have great musicians playing with him at The Peterborough Jazz Festival. Chris Smirnios (Drums), Zak Colbert (Bass),
Bunny (Sax) came all the way from Kingston to kick out the jams at The Spill Friday Sept. 11th.  Thanks to all those who came out! Many people came out for
Artsweek and witnessed the participants of Rock 'n' Soul Camp 2009 put on a show in Millineum Park.  It was a fantastic day and great support!

August '09
I just performed at Peterborough's Festival Of Lights at Del Crary Park and the turn out was fabulous. Eleven of my favourite musicians joined me on stage
for a joyous evening of music. Rob Phillips and Aaron Hoffman on keyboards, Andrew Affleck on bass, Michael Beauclerc on Drums, Mike Graham on guitar,
Scotty 'Blaze' McPherson on percussion, Marlow Bork on Trumpet, Tom 'Hojo' Reader on Trombone with Mike Skinner on Sax, along with Kirstin Addis and
Chelsey Bennett on backup vocals. The show was video taped by Ray Henderson and An Kosurko and recorded and mixed by Andy Pryde. Thank you to
EVERYONE who took part as a volunteer or as a spectator. It was quite the party! I'm looking forward to releasing a CD in the winter of brand new material.
Here's hoping!.....

July '09
I've been enjoying the summer with the 4th Line cast during their production of 'The Right Road To Pontypool'. Working as sound designer on the farm has
been a real treat. While spending time on the farm I've been running the Rock 'n' Soul Music Camp out of my home studio. It's been alot of fun teaching
songwriting to a group of talented teenagers! I'll be leading two more sessions in August.

June '09
Parents & kids... I'm offering 3 sessions of "Rock 'N' Soul Music Camp" this summer. Click
here for all the details & registration info!

Just to give you the bad news.....I think the LA LAKERS are going to take the series. Just for your information!

Alas, this is my first summer in a long time that I have not been on the 4th Line farm doing theatre. I'm rather sad, but trying to make the best of it by catching
up with unfinished business. Like, finishing my solo album. I shall not talk about it anymore until it's complete. Tonight I start my solo funk show at a new
club in Peterborough called KUBO located on George St. If you're living in Peterborough - or passing through - I encourage you to check this place out.
Especially on a Thursday night, when I'll be creating magic with a drum machine and microphone!

May '09
The shows have begun and the turn outs have been fair. I'm now travelling back and forth from Peterborough to Port Hope to do the shows while continuing
my teaching. Here's hoping for better turn outs for the next weekend!.....

Finished the show with a fairly big bang. Man, it's hard to get people out to see some good theatre. Especially when they've never heard of the play. Oh well.
Job well done folks!

I treated myself to a solo gig in Montreal at The Yellow Door. It's the oldest coffee house in Canada. What an honour! Some great friends came to hear some
original music. I had a surprise by an old friend, Jeremy Fisher, who recently moved to Montreal. If you've never heard his music I encourage you to go out
and purchase 'Goodbye Blue Monday'. It's worth it!

April '09
I've been living in Port Hope for the past while rehearsing extensively for 'The Woolgatherer'. This two hander is amazing! Alot of lines. Intense. If you've never
been to beautiful downtown Port Hope I encourage you to go and visit the wonderful Capitol Theatre. Great staff and a gorgeous building.

March '09
I am sad to say that I have left the dub-reggae band DUB TRINITY.  After forming the band with drummer Greg Roy and rocking the province for over seven
years with dubbing grooves on bass, keys and vocals, I have finally stepped down to pursue other goals and dreams.  Farewell dubsters!  It was fun while it
lasted....
Check out a live vid we just posted on youtube with me and the band at Showplace back in September '08.  Bridget Foley is featured on backup vocals.  She
sounds hot!

February '09
Hey guys and dolls!  I finished a wonderful production of HAIR in Port Hope at Capitol Theatre and I'm getting ready to jump into rehearsals for a show called
'THE WOOLGATHERER' by William Mastrosimone.  It's an intense two act play with just two actors and alot of drama.  I hope you look out for it when it comes
to Capitol Theatre the first week of May.  I'm very proud of it.  Also, I'm starting to book the summer full of gigs and looking forward to finishing my recordings.
Not sure what I'm gonna do with them.  Hopefully put out a greatest hits with some new gems!

January '09
HAPPY NEW YEAR!  Thanks to everyone who came out to celebrate NEW YEARS with Beau and Michael at The Holiday Inn.  It gets more fun every year!

Now that the holidays are taken care of, Beau is getting ready to cast and direct two of his one-act plays for Black History Month in February.  One will be
produced in Toronto with
Heritage Pavilion Stage entitled 'Freedom Bells', and the other - which is entitled 'Other Peoples Heaven' - will be produced in
Peterborough with Ray Henderson and
Arbor Theatre. For more information contact either of these theatre companies by clicking onto their websites.

Along with Beau doing some playwriting, he is acting in the musical HAIR in Port Hope with the Northumberland Players at the Capitol Theatre.  He is excited
to be back since his last acting debut with the company stripping as the character 'Horse' in THE FULL MONTY.  He is once again working with a wonderful
cast.  He is also thrilled to be directing a small cast in Warkworth preparing for the brilliant play 'Steel Magnolias' set to be performed in April.  Keep checking
his website for ticket info.

November '08
The cold chill is coming and just in time to cuddle by the fire and listen to the brand new Youth Emergency Shelter Christmas compilation officially being
released November 17th in Peterborough.  Very exciting! thanks to all the musicians who helped out with the project.  Another item you can add to your
Christmas wish list is The  Lair Of Sleeping Panthers and their new CD I just finished mixing last week!  Finally, after a year of putting up with their hootin'
and hollerin'!  Seriously though, it's a hot album!  Just finished a gig with Paul McLeod and Lucas Stagg.  Two brilliant songwriters who have played with
hundreds of great artists.  St. James Players is in the middle of their second week of West Side Story here at Peterborough Showplace Center.  It's been a
wonderful experience directing and I can't wait to see what becomes of these fine young actors in the years to come!

October '08
The Christmas Compilation for Youth Emergency Shelter is finally done!  Yippee!  Can't wait to see it at a store near you.  Please go out and purchase it as a
Christmas gift.  Your family and friends will thank you for it.  Great tracks by local artists.  Some are originals, and some are covers.  But, most of it is sung to
the tune of Christmas cheer!  Check out artists such as Rick Fines, Dianne Latchford and Jean Greig, Dub Trinity, The Conestokers and yours truly SLIPS.
But, there's many more.  See
www.HomeForChristmasCD.ca for more info.

September '08
Started rehearsals for The West Side Story.  It's a big cast with a lot of talent. Can't wait to sink my teeth into it.  Recording a great female songwriter named
Deanna Hergert.  Watch out for her CD to be finished in a month or two.  Finishing up a recording of a local band called The Lair Of Sleeping Panthers.
Some members from The Silver Hearts started up this new band and their tunes are a cross between The Velvet Underground, The Jam and Vaudeville
music... something like that.  It's taken almost a year to finish, but it's almost complete.  I'm excited about the one-act play I'm acting in with local veteran An
Kosurko.  It's a two-hander called 'Necropolis'.  If you're in Peterborough at the end of September during ARTSWEEK try to make it to SHOWPLACE on
George St.

August '08
Finished another great summer at 4th Line Theatre with Robert Winslow's futuristic western 'The Last Green Hill'.  I'm in Nova Scotia playing sweet reggae/
soul with my buddies The Hopping Penguins.  Played music on the docks and watched the boat races all weekend in Chester, Nova Scotia.  I love the east
coast.  To all the new friends I made out there, thanks for such a great time!  Hope to see you again soon!

July '08
Enjoying my time out on the 4th Line farm performing as the villain Sheriff Buck in the futuristic sci-fi western 'The Last Green Hill', written by Robert Winslow.
Slips 'n' The High Fives just finished an all ages show at The Gordon Best Theatre in front of a packed crowd.  Thanks for coming out everybody!  The
Peterborough Ribfest invited me to play this year.  What a blast!  I played two hours of all original music with an ALL STAR band backing me up.  Mike
Graham on guitar, Curtis Cronkwright on drums, Rob Phillips on keys and Andrew Affleck on bass.  Check out the new photos.   I'm producing a handful of
local artists and very excited about completing them just in time for a tour in Nova Scotia with 'The Hopping Penguins', Canada's longest running touring ska
/ reggae / funk band.  Well-okay ... maybe RUSH has toured longer - but they're not funky ... and they definitely don't do ska reggae too well.  Soooo ... if you're
out in Nova Scotia, look us up at a pub near you!

June '08
Rehearsals are underway for "The Last Green Hill" out at 4th Line.  Great to be back at the farm.  Recording sessions continue for the Christmas CD.  We're
making progress...

May '08
Thanks to everyone who came out to audition for West Side Story.  What a turnout!  Looks like it will be a great show this fall.  In other news, recording
sessions have begun for the Christmas Benefit CD.   Will spring ever get here?

Letter to the Editor - February 20, 2008
Peterborough Examiner

 Dixon says 'thanks'
I am privileged and humbled by the response of fellow musicians and artists, friends and colleagues
       during a time of despair.  On Jan. 14, after being robbed and beaten I believed I was ruined;
I could not envision a recovery.  The gathering of the community through encouraging words, helpful visits,
supportive calls and assistance contributed to my healing.  I was unable to perform, teach, compose,
record or produce for over two weeks.  The benefit concert and other donations have been a blessing.  Your
generosity has covered my financial losses beyond needs or expectations, for which I am deeply grateful.
The outpouring of care has been profound.  Your determination to make a statement of unity in celebrating
Peterborough and denouncing crime in this community has been inspiring.  I am in the process of
researching organizations who work with, or in support of, troubled youth.  I am committed to giving
in that direction; whether it be in time, money or talent.  I thank all of you.  I thank Peterborough.

                                                                                                                                                                                  Beau Dixon

Sept/04
Wow! What a summer! I have lost contact with many of you and my heart is beating with the anticipation of seeing you at my next show. No, I did not drown in
the flood and I have not moved to a far off land where there is no cyberspace. I have merely been ... distracted? Oh, who am I kidding?! I am horrible with
News updates! But my wonderful and sexy webmistress has spanked me and saved me from the deep corners of my Thespian mind. Yes, I have been fully
immersed with theatre while trying to record remix and revitalize my musical prowess. I promise you, now that the summer is over, so is the theatre season
... until my next play ...
I look forward to pestering you with many updates in the future. Yes, not only with music gigs, but theatre ones too. And, the best news is ... I finally have my
own computer! Yes it's true. I am now a man. No longer a boy, skipping to the public library or rushing to my mom's trying to squeeze in a google or two in
between the rinse cycle. I am my own entity, bathing in the digits of cyberspace! Thanks dad!
But seriously folks, this is a new beginning! Along with being hip on today's technology, I have just been awarded 'Emerging Artist of the Year' by the
Peterborough Folk Festival committee! That's right! They'll be taking me to the OCFF Conference in Guelph sometime in October, where I hope to woo
promoters and distinguished guests with my good looks and phat licks.
I hope to hear from you soon, and I promise I won't be a stranger!
Ciao for now, Beau 'Slips' Dixon

Aug/04
Farewell to Peter Brown at Davinci Marketing. Peter has been owner of Davinci for twelve years and will now be moving to Edmonton to spend more quality
time with the family and to pursue other musical endeavours. Theresa Foley and I will continue to produce award winning radio jingles and try to maintain
the excellence that Peter has achieved in the past. My heart goes out to you, Peter, and I thank you for the opportunity you have given me!
Meanwhile, 'Cavan Blazers' has begun and I'm trying to arrange music for three weddings this month!

July/04
The Dub Collective Festival was a pure success. It lasted for three days in Toronto. Dub poets from all around the world came to perform at The Rivoli and
other venues in the Big Smoke. Dub Trinity had the honour of backing up more than a dozen poets. We thank them all for coming from great distances to
participate and spread their gifted words of wisdom. And we thank those who showed up to support them!

June/04
Here it is! Summer! That means it's back to 4th Line Theatre! That's right, thirteen (13) full weeks of nothing but acting. I'll be tackling two plays this year. The
first one is 'Crow Hill: Telephone Play'. I play seven different characters. Very difficult to pull off, but I'm up for the challenge. The second play is 'Cavan
Blazers', and I'm looking forward to this one. I'll be playing Justice Jon Knowlson. This one is about the rivalry between the Catholic and Protesants who fight
over land settlement in the township of Cavan. I play the land owner who sells the land to the Catholics. Check out the website: 4thlinetheatre.on.ca

May/04
Here's something you mind find amusing. Beau Dixon ... playing an Irish rebel! Sort of a pre-cursor to the IRA. He's the leader of the White Boy Gang in Cork
City, Ireland. And his name is ... 'Captain Midnight'. This is a very interesting play about Irish immigaration during the 1800s. It's called 'Artifice and Artifacts'
written by Ed Schroeter.

April/04
The Distractions (formerly the Clifftones) are presently recording at Sound on Sound Studios. I play bass and keys along with some backup vocals. The chief
songwriter is Warren Cliff (hence the Clifftones). He played with such bands as 'Joe's Funeral', 'The Nines', and 'Weep Tile'. Matt Gpaerd (drummer for Hot
Piss) and Dave Tough (Silver Hearts) complete the line up. This will be our first album, and my fourth production credit. It's sounding very hot! Watch out
ladies!

Mar/04
Dub Trinity is presently in the studio recording our debut full length album. Chet Singh is the poet while I am laying down the phat bass, guitar and keys and
the ever so present Greg Roy playing the beats. Here's hoping it gets down by fall. I have started my next play iwth many talented actors sharing the stage
with me. The play is 'Mother Courage and her Children' which was written by Bertolt Brechs. The same genius who wrote 'Three Penny Opera'.

Feb/04
Arbor Theatre has hired me to play the role of Talbert, a Louisiana slave struggling with the freedom through the underground railroad. The play is written by
Ed Schroeter and is entitled 'Freedom for All!". This will be performed in public schools throughout Ontario.

Jan/04
I have just signed on with an acting agency in Toronto, McGuin & Associates. I am patting myself on the back. This is quite an accomplishment for me
especially considering I still have had no luck with musical representation. Oh well. I look forward to seeing what this year has in store for me!
