Dianne's love for acting began and was nurtured during her high school years. With an extremely comprehensive extra-curricular drama program, the theatre experience throughout those formative years was extraordinary. Dedication to craft, commitment to an artistic pursuit - it was all taken very seriously, allowing the work that was produced to be exemplary. Good early training.
She continued her studies at York University after being accepted into the very intensive 4-year theatre program. Dianne graduated with an Honours Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree (BFA) in Theatre Performance and was recipient of the Cheryl Rosen Memorial Award for excellence in academics and artistry.
After university, she started working professionally right away (preventing her from attending her own graduation ceremonies - sorry to miss it, but ecstatic to be working in her field). She soon joined Canadian Actors' Equity and ACTRA and has been a member of both organizations for over 25 years.
Throughout her career, Dianne has continued to work and study, always believing that an actor never stops learning - whether it is through formal training or simply through the empathetic observation of the human condition. "Somehow, stepping into someone else's skin has always been intriguing. It makes awareness and understanding of other people's lives and circumstances somewhat clearer. We could all use a little of that."
